Tampa, Florida – President-elect Donald Trump has said he wants the United States to become the crypto capital of the world, which has increased interest in digital forms of money.
Ryan Horst is an international cryptocurrency educator. His business is called Altcoin Pro. FOX 13 asked Horst to take a crash course in cryptocurrencies called “Crypto 101.”
Horst says that to better understand the concept of cryptocurrencies, we need to change our concept of what money is. Over the centuries, it has constantly changed.
Money wasn't always cash. Horst says cryptocurrencies should be viewed that way. It's the evolution of money.

“We spend money every day, but the vast majority of people don't fully understand what money is,” Horst says.
Bitcoin is the most well-known of the cryptocurrencies, but there are many others.
Horst said his goal is to educate people about what cryptocurrencies are and how to not be afraid of them.
“Know how to navigate this space,” Horst said. “Because if you don't, you'll get burned.”
