Chris Pavlovski, the CEO of Rumble, a YouTube rival, hints at the possibility of a new Bitcoin tipping feature for content creators after the Tether partnership.
In a tweet on Monday, Pavlovski suggested that users may soon be able to tip their favorite creators who use Bitcoin and the stablecoin USDT. “Imagine being able to tip your favorite creators directly on Rumble with USDT or BTC.” He wrote.
Notably, this proposal comes following Rumble’s significant collaboration with the largest stablecoin issuer Tether.
Rumble’s $775 million alliance with Tether
Last week, Tether purchased 103.3 million Rumble shares at $7.50 each, investing a total of $775 million. This deal caused Rumble shares to rise 76%. The new investment is intended to help Rumble strengthen its finances, support growth and buy back up to 70 million shares for liquidity.
Rumble’s CEO highlighted the shared values of decentralization and free expression between the two companies.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino highlighted the partnership’s potential to promote decentralization and explore opportunities in cloud services, crypto payments and advertising. The deal will close in the first quarter of 2025, with Tether holding a minority stake and the board not involved.
