OverTrip, the popular third-person battle royale shooter, has been released on PC via the Epic Games Store. This coincides with the launch of the third content season, which introduces a new “skill mode” that allows players to bet real money on their performance using OverTrip’s new token, TRIP.
The game will operate as a multi-chain project, with TRIP tokens debuting on Solana and NFTs minted on Ethereum mainnet. It also plans to expand to Soneium, the Ethereum layer 2 network developed by Sony and Startail.

Launched on November 30th via none other than Prodegen platform Pump.fun, TRIP tokens will be used to trade in-game skins and serve as the currency for skill modes. However, TRIP's value has fallen by over 20% in the past 24 hours, with its current market capitalization at US$5.12 million (A$8.03 million).

Adults only
OverTrip is a blockchain-based battle royale game that integrates competitive third-person shooter mechanics and Web3 features. Developed by GGXYZ Studio and supported by Gamestarter.
Gameplay revolves around 20 player matches in a fast-paced third-person shooter format. Players can choose between Free Mode for casual play and Skill Mode for competitive matches that will test their agility and strategy level. There are various in-game features such as skins and weapons.
Skill mode allows players to bet between $0.10 and $0.99 on their ability to finish in the top three in a match. If your bet is successful you will earn tokens, but if you lose your bet will be forfeited.
The SuperVerse token (SUPER) is also set to be integrated into Skill Mode, allowing you to expand your betting options a bit.
With the ability to officially wager real money in-game, OverTrip received an “Adults Only” (AO) rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). This is very interesting.
Anyway, the latest update also includes a private lobby with customizable wagering requirements, a new deathmatch mode, and increased player capacity for battle royale matches (from 20 to 50 participants). Oh, and new skins have also been added, so the level of customization in the game is quite noticeable.
An overwhelming campaign?
Here comes the question… Hmm, are you sad?
The launch of TRIP tokens involves several distribution strategies, with 8% of the token supply initially allocated to player rewards via airdrops, 4.2% set aside for marketing, and an additional 4. % was set aside for exchange listing and ensuring liquidity.
If this seems lower than most project quotas, that's because it is. Some users on the game's Discord channel said the allocation rate was so low that it wasn't even enough to buy a toy car.

Notably, there was no formal allocation to the development team, but team members were able to purchase tokens prior to the announcement. The team has promised to publish an on-chain report with a detailed analysis of token distribution to ensure full transparency (wink).
Increased adoption in the gaming sector
At the same time, other crypto platforms have also started supporting some blockchain-based games and their development and deployment on mobile devices.
I'm talking about Skale Labs, the team behind Ethereum Layer 2 Skale, and Sequence, a blockchain-based game developer. These projects are working on the mobile shooter Zoppel: The Legend of Furiax.

The alpha version of the vertical spaceship shooter Zoppel will be released on December 15th on Android and iOS and will be the first project of this collaboration. The game, which is based on an original sci-fi universe, comes with a graphic novel set to ship in January.
After Zoppel, Skale Labs and Sequence plan to support additional games on the Skale network, including Sheertopia, The Last Monarchy, Netherrack Demons, and Olderfall.
The collaboration aims to integrate the Sequence Builder tool with Skale's Nebula mainnet to streamline game development and improve the gaming experience.
