The price of HEX, the cryptocurrency founded by Richard Schueler (known as Richard Heart), rose 15% within 24 hours after Interpol issued a Red Notice for the controversial figure.
The notice issued on December 23, 2024 seeks the provisional arrest of Schueler in connection with serious allegations of tax fraud and bodily harm. While a Red Notice does not serve as an international arrest warrant, it does act as a worldwide request to law enforcement authorities to locate and arrest an individual.
Helsinki police detective Harri Saaristola explained that these discrepancies were central to the legal action against the HEX founder.
Assault allegations on Europe’s most wanted list
In addition to the tax fraud charges, Schueler is charged with assault. According to the list of Europe’s most wanted fugitives, he is accused of physically attacking a 16-year-old by dragging him into a stairwell and throwing him to the ground. These serious allegations have led to further controversy surrounding the founder, which has caused division in the cryptocurrency world.
