A closely followed crypto analyst says Ethereum (ETH) appears primed for a surge against Bitcoin (BTC) as the new year begins.
In a new video update, crypto strategist Benjamin Cowen tells his 848,000 YouTube subscribers that based on historical trends, Ethereum is likely to bottom out against the top crypto asset by market cap soon.
According to Cowen, ETH/BTC will rise sometime in early 2025 no matter how the crypto king performs against the US dollar.
“Think about it: Historically, ETH/BTC bottoms in either December or January.
It’s already December [22nd]. My guess? ETH remains weak against Bitcoin, likely for the rest of the year.
That doesn’t mean there can’t be a green week – but it will likely remain weak for the rest of the year, perhaps early January, and then I would expect ETH/BTC to rise in 2025, regardless of direction BTC/USD.”
Cowen further notes that even based on previous market cycles, 2025 is expected to be a good year for ETH/BTC in terms of quarterly returns.
“In 2022, Q1 and Q2 were red, then there was Q3 and Q4 [that] were green. The only other quarter where ETH/BTC was green, apart from the second half of the year…
