President-elect Donald Trump has named Bo Hines, a former Republican congressional candidate, as executive director of his new Crypto Council.
Trump says on the social media platform Truth Social that the group, officially known as the Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, will be “made up of crypto industry luminaries.”
The president-elect also points out that the council will be led by David Sacks, a veteran Silicon Valley venture capitalist whom Trump tapped to be his AI (artificial intelligence) and crypto czar in the White House.
Hines is a former college football player and Yale graduate who lost a race for a congressional district in North Carolina in 2022.

“In his new role, Bo will work with David to drive innovation and growth in the digital assets space while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. Together, they will create an environment in which this industry can thrive and remain a cornerstone of our nation’s technological advancement.”
