A London judge found that Craig Wright had forged documents and repeatedly lied in court, and it was conclusively declared that Craig Wright was not Satoshi Nakama. Part of the ruling stipulated that Wright could no longer bring lawsuits related to Bitcoin. Nevertheless, Wright filed a separate lawsuit against Twitter founder Jack Dorsey worth a total of $1.2 trillion. The British court found the act to be in contempt of court and sentenced Wright to one year in prison (although the sentence was suspended).
This year has been a particularly good year for cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin.
So it's no surprise that this has been a good year for Satoshi Nakamoto.
Unfortunately for Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, it's been legally determined that he's not actually Satoshi…and you'll know it because his 2024 stinks.
First, a judge in London found that the Australian had forged backdated emails as part of the trial, conclusively declaring that Craig Wright was not the creator of Bitcoin.
Wright is currently serving a 12-month suspended sentence for contempt of court.

Craig Wright's ongoing legal actions come back to haunt him
Craig Wright has earned as much of a reputation in the industry for his love of litigation as he has for claiming to be the original inventor of the Bitcoin blockchain.
In fact, it was his trigger-happy legal fingers that got him into trouble in the first place.
Earlier this year, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) turned the tables and filed its own lawsuit against Wright, seeking to prove once and for all that the Australian was not Satoshi.
Judge Mellor ruled in favor of COPA in May, declaring that he was not Satoshi Nakamoto. As part of the legal outcome, Wright was barred from filing any further lawsuits related to Bitcoin.
But…what happens to this saying? Can't leopards change their spots?
Helpless, Wright boldly launched another legal battle, this time targeting Twitter founder Jack Dorsey.
The lawsuit was worth a whopping US$1.2 trillion (A$1.92 trillion), but it turns out Wright won't win the case.

Judge sentences Wright for contempt, but appeals intensify
British Judge Mellor found Thursday that Wright's case against Dorsey was a “clear breach” of the original court's ruling.
Meanwhile, COPA general counsel Jonathan Huff declared that Wright's latest attempt at a legal battle was a “desperate publicity stunt to attract a cult following.”
The court agreed with Huff and sentenced Wright on five counts of contempt of court.

He was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years…but of course, that doesn't end there.
Do you know why?
Well, Wright plans to appeal Judge Mellor's latest ruling and will be back in action soon.
I can't wait to see how it turns out.
