With 1,359 ATMs across the country, Australia now accounts for 3.5% of the world’s Bitcoin ATMs and ranks third in the world in terms of total installations.
Steady growth puts Australia in the global spotlight
Data from Coin ATM Radar highlights Australia’s unbroken streak of monthly Bitcoin ATM additions, bringing the country closer to surpassing Europe’s total. There are currently 1,660 Bitcoin ATMs in Europe, a narrow lead that positions Australia as a strong contender for the third largest Bitcoin ATM network in the world after the US and Canada.

North America dominates the market
The United States remains the undisputed leader with 31,516 Bitcoin ATMs, accounting for 81.3% of the global total. Canada follows with 3,027 ATMs (7.8% of the global share). Combined, North America accounts for over 90% of the world’s Bitcoin ATMs, dwarfing Europe and Oceania’s 4% and Asia’s just 0.9%.
There were 38,753 Bitcoin ATMs worldwide at the end of December, with Australia contributing significantly to Oceania’s footprint. The country’s continued growth reflects its progressive approach to cryptocurrency adoption, distinguishing it from regions with stricter regulations or slower adoption rates.
