Sundar Pichai, CEO of tech giant Google, recently organized a key year-end strategy meeting with employees where he discussed concerns that rival ChatGPT (owned by OpenAI) could become synonymous with artificial intelligence (AI), as did Google for internet searches. Pichai also reportedly urged Google employees to remain focused and agile for a “transformative 2025.”
According to a report from CNBC, Google employees were told by Pichai to prepare for 2025 because “the stakes will be too high,” perhaps emphasizing Gemini (Google’s AI product) over its main rival ChatGPT apply. During the strategy meeting, Pichai also read questions from Google employees, and one of them expressed concerns about whether ChatGPT could become synonymous with AI, the way Google was with internet search.
